Episode 02 (7/10 – Above Average)
Impression:
The love story between Kazuya and Suzume touched my heart. It’s so bittersweet; just like KyoAni, although, if you compare it to their other romances, it doesn’t measure up. The pacing of this show is its flaw. Munto has come several times to Yumemi and there’s been only a little progress in that plot – which is a problem because it’s the main plot. I can’t help but feel the writers are wasting time. KyoAni’s other 13-episode anime, such as Air, have had pacing problems as well. The writers aren’t able to manipulate time to do what they want. In writing this can be fatal. I'm having problems with the look of Munto TV; some shots are filled and interesting and some are too wide and plain. I learned that KyoAni is using some footage from the OVAs. So sometimes it looks like today's KyoAni and sometimes it looks like the past KyoAni. The studio has come a long way.
Suggestive Content:
Kazuya and Suzume are “getting married” at 13, but even the characters know that’s too young.
Rating:
Animation: 8/10
Characters: 8/10
Writing: 7/10
Pacing: 4/10
Enjoyment: 8/10
