Episode 03 (9/10 – Fantastic)
Impression:
The shift of focus from Tsutomu to Birdy has pulled season two out from the flaws of season one. The focus should have been on Birdy from the beginning. Tsutomu is just too whiney for a main hero. This episode was a very young love story. The bond between the kids was so sweet. I never was close to a boy when I was young… Ah, wistfulness. The art was back to its high standard this episode; I think we should treat last episode as a brain flop on the part of the art director.
Suggestive Content:
A couple guys zoom in on a lady’s breasts through their night vision goggles. There’s a shot between Birdy’s legs, and her suit doesn’t cover much anyway. Nataru is beaten with a crowbar – lots of blood. One of the human traffickers licks Marina’s face.
Rating:
Animation: 9/10
Characters: 8/10
Writing: 8/10
Pacing: 9/10
Enjoyment: 9/10
