Shangri-La 04

Episode 04 (8/10 Great)
Impression:
I like this show better now. I hope the writers get to the interaction between the “mysterious girls” soon, though. They’re still introducing characters. The worse move they could make would be to try to go in too many directions like Bounen no Xamdou did. Balance is so important. A storyline doesn’t have to be complicated; it just has to be well-written. I can think of several anime that needed to learn this lesson. Mikuni is very interesting; I’d like to see more of her. I guess we will, now that Mi-ko is one of her attendants.
Suggestive Content:
Sion says he enjoys being punished by Lady Ryoko; he’s masochist. Momoko’s outfit is revealing.

Shangri-La 03

Episode 03 (7.5/10 Above Average)
Impression:
I’m hanging onto this show, waiting for character development. Political themes have made me drop Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, Real Drive, and others like them. I hope that doesn’t happen with this. There’s nothing wrong with political anime; it’s just that I don’t enjoy or understand politics. I want story! Character development! Something to which I can relate. However, I am very interested in that girl under Atlas. (So many mysterious girls – this is truly anime…)
Suggestive Content:
There’s a reference to a gay bar and transsexuals.
