Episode 13 (7/10 Above Average)
Impression:
I can’t help but be disappointed with this so-called finale. Instead of tying up plot elements introduced through the novel, it decides to end with a gag. One that wasn’t even funny. I guess this proves it; Kannagi was never intended to be a serious series, it was just a gag anime. Tsugumi’s past with Jin isn’t cleared up; Zange doesn’t give up the body she stole; Kannagi, Nagi’s alter ego isn’t explained… the answer to whether Nagi is a god is confusing. The drama they attempt in the first part of the episode is cheesy and overdramatic. Now, I liked the story of Nagi and the old lady, but it needed more time and drama. And, Daitetsu’s phone messages were funny. But, at the end, I wonder why I watched this series. I kept saying that it had good ideas and potential for an emotional ending. And I didn’t get it. No satisfaction.
Suggestive Content:
Jin imagines Nagi in the shower, and then we see her in the bath. She’s forgotten to bring her clothes in with her, so she ventures through the house in a towel, but Jin runs into her and she turns to run and trips. Jin tries to catch her and ends up on top of her and her towel falls off. One last piece of fanservice to send us off, (sigh.)
