Episode 01 (6/10 Good)
Impression:
I like Kobayashi Jin. A couple years ago I read the first chapter of the Natsu no Arashi manga. This episode was nothing like it – in story, atmosphere, and timing. This was a ridiculous first episode. They reveal that Arashi and Kaya can jump through time without any build-up or explanation. It was used like some sort of prop to further the joke of the episode. This entire episode was a gag. Bad move. This was nowhere near what it should have been. The character designs were pretty good, except Kaya’s; it looks messed up. I hated the crystal outline that they shaded with and the background art was sometimes very bad. A few years ago Studio Comet ruined School Rumble. I can’t believe Natsu no Arashi is ruined now. By the looks of it, the episodes are in an alternate order. I will continue to watch this unless it become so stinking bad I can’t stand it.
Suggestive Content:
Arashi’s body is accentuated several times (and what is the deal with bellybuttons?) She and Hajime are shown dressing.
Rating:
Animation: 6/10
Characters: 7/10
Writing: 4/10
Pacing: 3/10
Enjoyment: 8/10
