Skip Beat! 02

Episode 02 (7/10 Above Average)
Impression:
I just read Pride and Prejudice. The subtlety shows the intelligence of the dialogue. Comparing that to the in-your-face approach of anime truly makes anime fall short. But on the other hand, the entertainment value of shows like Skip Beat is higher than long, intellectual novels. So, anime is the stuff of low, but satisfying entertainment. Skip Beat’s use of colorful backgrounds is very noticeable, but for this type of humor, it works.
Suggestive Content:
Sawara-san is in the bath shortly. Bad language.

Soul Eater 02

Episode 02 (8.5/10 Really Great)
Impression:
The characters of this show may be slightly annoying to some, but they’re very entertaining. I like the fast pace and the general art, too! 52 episodes is a lot, but I’m going to watch this show! I bet my club would like it as well. The Do Not Cross tape was so funny. I can’t wait to see where this series goes.
Suggestive Content:
Black Star declares he’s going to surpass God, which is blasphemy. Black Star peeks in on a women’s bath twice. Slapstick and straight violence. Language.
Rating:
Animation: 9/10
