Shikabane Hime: Aka 05

Episode 05 (8/10 Great)
Impression:
I’m not sure they played up the drama for the car bit enough. It’s nice to see the cast expand, though. We meet another Shikabane Hime and her contracted priest and our villain. I’ve got to praise the writers for their skillful pacing of information shown. Forgive me if this review isn’t very clear. My anime club is watching this show and we watch 3 episodes every week, so I’m trying to catch up and I know what’s going to happen later on… Sorry.
Suggestive Content:
Violence. Incredibly well-drawn violence. And some horror elements
Rating:
Animation: 8.5/10

Writing: 8/10
Pacing: 9/10
Enjoyment: 9/10

Shikabane Hime: Aka 04

Episode 04 (7/10 Great)
Impression:
Lingering desires. I’d like to base a story on this theme. Although, I didn’t find this episode to be very interesting. One reason is the way pop idols are betrayed. Some anime make them intriguing characters, but some, like this episode, make them dull and average. Plus, Kun’s lyrics were morbid. I don’t see how lyrics like that could make her the pop sensation they’re trying to show her as. I’d like to take this time to say that Oori Kagami is a much better leading man than Keita (from Kurokami) because he does everything he can to help Makina without being asked or whining. He’s my favorite lead male of the season.
Suggestive Content:
Keisei puts a load of anime figurines and posters in Kagami’s room. Depending on the fansub, expect foul language. (Expect it in any anime. The translators will use the words they think will express the sentiment.)
